Frequently Asked Questions.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or just want to better understand yourself, therapy can be a supportive space to explore those things. Our first few sessions can help clarify what you're hoping for and how I can support you.

What can I expect in the first session?

Our first session is about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’re hoping for, and start to get a sense of where we might focus together. I’ll likely send you a few questions to answer beforehand so we can make the most of our initial time together. There’s no pressure to “perform” or explain everything perfectly, just bring yourself, and we’ll go from there.

Where do sessions take place?

I offer both in-person sessions in South Denver near Washington Park as well as secure telehealth sessions for clients anywhere in Colorado. You’re welcome to choose the format that works best for you, and we can always shift if your needs change.

Can I switch between in-person and telehealth?

Absolutely. Many clients appreciate having the flexibility to choose what works best based on their schedule, travel, or comfort level. You’re welcome to switch formats as needed.

What ages do you work with?

I work with teens, young adults, and adults. If you're a parent seeking support for a younger teen or want help navigating a parent/child relationship, we can explore options together.

What if I’ve never been to therapy before?

That’s more than okay. You don’t need to have all the right words or know exactly what to say. I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll take it one step at a time.

How long will I be in therapy?

The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some people come for a few months to work through something specific, while others stay longer to explore deeper patterns or ongoing support. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy is working for you and aligned with your goals.

Do you take insurance?

I’m not in-network with insurance companies, but I partner with a service called Thrizer to help you access your out-of-network benefits without the usual hassle.

With Thrizer:

  • You only pay your co-insurance or deductible portion upfront (instead of the full fee).

  • They handle the insurance claims directly, so you’re not stuck submitting superbills or waiting for reimbursement.

  • This makes using your out-of-network benefits almost as seamless as working with an in-network provider. I’m happy to walk you through it.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need. Feel free to ask about availability during your consultation.

Do you offer Christian or other faith-based counseling?

Yes, if spirituality or faith is important to you, I’m happy to incorporate it into our work in a way that feels authentic and supportive. I also work with clients who don’t identify with any particular tradition.

How do I schedule a session?

You can book directly through the Services page or right here. If you’re new, feel free to send me a message or take me up on a free 15-minute consult so we can talk through what you’re looking for and whether it feels like a good fit.

Can I text you to schedule or ask questions?

For confidentiality and clarity, I handle most communication through email or my secure client portal. That helps us keep things organized and respectful of your privacy.

You’re welcome to text me if needed, but please know that texting limits confidentiality, and I may not respond until the next business day.

Have another question not addressed here?

Send me a message, and I’d be happy to answer it to the best of my ability.
